Power Line Info and Map (Guide Only)

In a US Dept. of HUD publication HUD expressed their concerns about homes that are located adjacent to Overhead High Voltage Transmission Lines.  4150.1 Rev-1, 4-24 reads: "No dwelling may be located within ten feet of the outer boundary of a High Voltage transmission easement nor may the site be any closer than the fall distance of a structural tower supporting the lines."

The lines of concern are not the wires supported by wood poles that stretch power between individual lots; but those lines that go from power station to substation back and forth across our city. A couple of examples are:

The lines along East Flamingo where Nevada Power has
                 planted a wide green belt.

The towered power lines that parallel Spencer behind
                 the Boulevard Mall.

The important point for Real Estate agents to keep in mind, is that just because FHA may have insured homes that fall in the "high risk category" previously, sets no precedent for FHA insuring them in the future.  This means that a property that falls into the classification above will be limited to VA or conventional financing.

If you have any concerns about power lines near a listing or a home that a client wants to buy call Nevada Power and ask if the lines go from station to substation.
